This event has been postponed to January 8th, 2025.
The Weyburn Agricultural Society will recap the 2024 year as well as look ahead to 2025 at its annual general meeting on December 18th at 7:30 p.m. in the board room at the Weyburn Agricultural Society office building, located beside the Exhibition Hall in the Ag Fair Grounds.
“We are going through our audit so it will be the findings of that and then what happened in 2024 and setting our fair days for 2025 and going from there, each committee will also do a little blurb about what happened this year,” shared Brandie Fisher, marketing director with the Agricultural Society.
There are currently 19 members on their Board of Directors, including junior directors as well. Fisher explains that every board member takes the reigns of certain projects such as Ag Safety Days with Stacey Kosior being Ag Safety Education director. This helps ensure that all bases are covered for events and directors can focus on their event specifically, although as Fisher states, it’s a team effort.
“There's one head chair and then everybody kind of helps out. So yeah, kind of a collective effort just working on different events or things that are going on.” Fisher also says that they’re always looking for new people to join the society.
“Mainly what we wanted people to know is that we have vacancies so that they could get nominated at the AGM and all the vacancies listed on our website. Like for example, we have parking and policing, if someone wanted to be our historian, set up a commercial and concession that would be like the fair vendors.”
The Weyburn Agricultural Society is looking to fill eight positions that are open within their Board of Directors with positions including President, 1st and 2nd Vice President, and Finance.
