Central Albertans are encouraged to nominate someone in their life for the Gift of Hearing.
A manufacturer for Hear Right Canada is donating a premium set of rechargeable hearing aids, which will then be gifted to someone in the community.
“We want people to nominate somebody for the Gift of Hearing that they feel needs hearing aids, deserves them, but can't afford them because there's a bit of a price tag,” said Jenn Hutchingame, Hear Right Co-Owner.
“We want to try to help out as many people as we can hear better.”
The top-of-the-line hearing aids reduce background noise and have Speech Focus for individuals who are hard of hearing.
There is no charge for the hearing aids, and the clinic will take care of the serving and testing at no charge, making it a complete gift.
“It's one of those senses that we take for granted,” Hutchingame said. “Hearing connects us with people, and until you lose it, you don't realize how important it truly is.”
Hutchingame expressed that it’s extremely important for individuals to protect their hearing when working with loud equipment or machinery, by using ear plugs, or earmuffs.
She added that if individuals have sudden onset hearing loss, they should seek medical attention.
Central Albertans are encouraged to visit, or call Hear Right clinics in Lacombe, Red Deer, or Innisfail to nominate someone for the Gift of Hearing.
