Saskatchewan's parks are glistening with snow and frost-covered flora this time of the year, making them an enchanting destination for many southwest residents, families, and outdoor enthusiasts.
From outdoor ice skating to a Festival of Lights or snowmobiling, the various parks offer something that's sure to pique everyone's interest.
Saskatchewan's Minister of Parks, Culture, and Sport, Alana Ross, noted that the wide array of unique experiences and outdoor adventures make Saskatchewan's provincial parks a thrilling winter destination.
"Winter is a big part of our ife in Saskatchewan and our goal is to make this season one to remember," said Ross.
Cross-country skiing, ice-fishing, crokicurl, snowshoeing, toboganning, and hiking are a few popular activities amoung visitors of the parks.
Echo Valley's Skate the Park launches on December 26 for an opportunity to skate between the trees under displays of fairy lights in a magical atmosphere.
In Cypress Hills, a guided snowshoe hike with a chance to spot some birds and learn all about them will take place on December 30, along with a New Year's Toboggan Party on January 1 at 12:00 p.m.
Anyone planning a little getaway can enjoy some winter camping, book a cabin, kick back in a hotel or resort, or even stay in one of Echo Valley's three winter Camp-Easy yurts.
Valid park entry permits are required and can be purchased when entering a park or online as a daily or annual permit.
