The Miami Community Center and the Miami Power Toboggan Club are joining forces to host an exciting New Year’s Eve social, promising a night of fun, community spirit, and a great way to ring in 2025.

What is the Miami Power Toboggan Club?

The Miami Power Toboggan Club may be small, but its impact on the Miami community is significant. Known for organizing events and maintaining local winter amenities, the club builds and maintains cross-country ski trails, maintains a snowmobile trail, and even constructs a snow slide for the community. These efforts ensure that Miami residents and visitors have access to free, enjoyable outdoor winter activities.

“We’re just a small group dedicated to giving back to the Miami community,” Club representative Russ Suderman shared.

New Year’s Eve social details

If you’re looking for New Year’s Eve plans, Miami Community Center is the place to be:

  • When: Doors open at 8:00 PM, December 31st, 2024
  • Where: Miami Community Center.
  • Tickets: $15, available at the door
  • Entertainment: DJ services provided by CD Sound, a countdown to midnight, and exciting social prizes.
  • Snack: A hearty late-night lunch will be served at 10:00 PM.

“Miami socials are always a blast,” Suderman added. “The community here is amazing—it feels like a second home for us.”

Supporting community needs

The social doubles as a fundraiser for the Miami Community Center and the Power Toboggan Club.

  • Community Center: Funds will go towards much-needed building maintenance and renovations.
  • Power Toboggan Club: Proceeds will support various club activities and fund a new PA system to enhance live events.

“Right now, we’re piecing together speakers from everyone’s garage,” Suderman joked. “It works, but it’s time for an upgrade!”

Snow conditions and Winter fun

While last winter lacked snow, this season has been a pleasant change for Miami and the surrounding area. Despite a recent melt, cross-country ski trails and snowmobile routes are open and ready for use.

“Come out and join us,” Russ Suderman encouraged. “It’ll be a great time, and we can’t wait to celebrate the New Year with you!”
