The Humboldt Broncos are happy to announce that 2007-born defensemen Simon Garchinski has committed to playing for the Humboldt Broncos for the 2025/26 SJHL season.
Garchinski is currently with the Prince Albert Mintos for his third season of U18 AAA hockey, where he is tied for the team-lead in points, and first among defensemen with 26 points (4g-22a) in 22 games. His 26 points also rank 5th among all defensemen in the Saskatchewan U18 AAA League.
“Simon’s game is at a level where we feel he’s ready for the next step. He is a solid defender, extremely responsible in his own zone who always looks to make the smart play. He clearly has developed the offensive side of his game while with the Mintos and we expect big things for him as a Bronco,” said Head Coach and GM Brayden Klimosko.
Garchinski, a Martensville, SK native, was drafted by the Broncos with the 23rd overall pick in the 2022 SJHL U15 Draft.
Garchinski has already made his SJHL debut, suiting up for three games with the Broncos, twice in the 2022-23 season, and once last year.
The Humboldt Broncos and the City of Humboldt would like to welcome Simon and his family to the organization and community.
