Recently, two Canadian artists got to team up and go on the road together. Matt LeFait and Dan Bremnes did multiple shows near the end of 2024, but leading up to it, LeFait said there was something scary happening.

"It wasn't funny, but it was funny. We [Family] had pneumonia. That was August into September. And then we went on tour with Dan over some dates in October. And I was literally just getting my voice back. So it was kind of scary having multiple nights in a row. You really need to be careful. So it was a lot of prayer and water to get through."

Getting to be on the road with another artist was beneficial for LeFait. "It's cool to see other artists' process of what they do right before a show," he said.

Before each show, LeFait says that Dan Bremnes had something he would have to have. "Dan drinks tea before the show, so I joined him drinking tea. He brought it out on stage and I thought that was pretty bold and cool."

Originally, LeFait got the opportunity through working with Christian radio stations on the East Coast that connected the two artists.

As LeFait looks back on the experience, there were certain moments that stood out above others. "Playing the same songs night after night and seeing a different crowd and how they engage and how they worship as the collective body of Christ really inspired me."

He is no stranger to leading others in worship as he is a worship leader, but each time it's special. "There's a mixture of 'wow, this is actually happening.' Then there's a mixture of you have to stay humble in all of this."

There are a couple of songs that he does each time. "So there's "Gratitude" by Brandon Lake and "Goodness of God" by Bethel. You know you're going to get some feedback. Some people singing along really loud."

As he's looking ahead to the next couple of months, he says there will be new music. "Constantly this year I'll be having new music come out every six to eight weeks. I have another song coming up called "The God Who Sees Me" that I wrote in a really tough spot earlier last year. So it's a very real raw song and I'm excited to release that."
