"Canada’s largest indoor farm show will kick off the three-day event on Tuesday January 21st at the Keystone Centre in Brandon," shares Media Coordinator, Teresa Hildebrand.  "This year’s show will include over 550 exhibitors with both indoor and outdoor displays all under one roof!"

Five things to know before the show

1. This year’s theme is Produced on the Prairies.

Hildebrand, says the opening event, Produced on the Prairies Tasting Event, takes place on Monday night at the Provincial Exhibition Dome Building starting at 7 pm.  "So, we'll be showcasing local food and beverages that evening which leads us right into the theme of Produced on the Prairies."

Hildebrand says the theme will be evident throughout the 3-day show, bringing products, equipment and speakers who got their start on the prairies.

"But something's that new for this year starts right on the first day, on the Tuesday as soon as the doors open, is the food and vendor market.  This is the first time that we've brought locally produced food and beverage vendors into the show."

"At the top of the main ramp in the Keystone Centre, you will find our NEW, one-of-a-kind vendor market featuring different local food and beverage products each day," she adds.

4. Speaker line-up

With over 60 speakers and topics ranging from selecting canola varieties to managing your cattle herd and from planning for big yields to predicting global markets, there's sure to be a wealth of information to be shared over the three-day show.

"We have a huge variety of speakers, and we tried to touch on a variety of topics as well," explains Hildebrand. "So, you'll see everything from agronomy to marketing. You'll see equipment talks and livestock talks. All of those components are part of what a modern farm looks like.  We know that it's about what your farm looks like today and what it looks like tomorrow, and how your farm fits into the local market and then the bigger global market."

"So, all of those aspects will go into that program," she adds.
