The Pembina Valley Bible Camp is gearing up for its annual "Valley-Tines" banquet, a special two-night event designed to bring couples and friends together for an evening of delicious food, inspiring messages, and fun activities.
Taking place on Thursday, February 13th, and Friday, February 14th, this event promises to be a memorable experience for all attendees.
"This is our third year hosting the banquet, and we've sold out both previous years," shares Jill Friesen, Executive Director of Pembina Valley Bible Camp. "This year, we decided to extend it to two nights to give more people the opportunity to join in on the fun."
A relaxed and encouraging atmosphere
The banquet offers a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the beauty of the Pembina Valley in winter. "Our goal is to get people up to the valley, especially in the winter. The trees, the lights, and the stars create a gorgeous setting," says Friesen. "We want the evening to be relaxed and fun, but also encouraging."
Guests can look forward to interactive table games, uplifting messages, and a warm, welcoming environment. The camp’s team has worked hard to create a night that balances entertainment with meaningful connection.
Food is always a highlight at the "Valley-Tines" banquet, and this year’s menu features a Southern theme. Thursday’s dinner will include smoked brisket, homemade mac and cheese, and cobbler, while Friday’s meal will feature smoked pork.
"We don’t have a smoker at the camp, but we’ve partnered with someone who does an incredible job for us," Friesen adds.
An inspiring speaker
This year’s guest speaker is Terry Dueck, lead Pastor at the Winkler MB Church, who will share personal stories and insights on marriage and relationships. "Terry’s talk will be a mix of personal experiences and encouragement, focusing on building strong connections," Friesen explains.
The event begins at 6:00 PM, with dinner and the program running from 6:30 to 9:00 PM. Tickets are just $25 per person, with a free-will offering taken during the evening.
Tickets are available at the Winkler and Morden Co-op food stores or by contacting the Pembina Valley Bible Camp directly through their website, www.pembinavalleybiblecamp.com
Looking ahead to summer
While the banquet is a winter highlight, the camp is already preparing for its busy summer season. "Applications for spring and summer staff are open," Friesen noted. "We’re looking for leaders in areas like biking, paintball, and creative arts to join our team."
For those who have never visited the camp, Friesen encourages them to experience the beauty of the valley firsthand. "In winter, the snow on the trees and the clear night skies with stars you’ve never seen before are breathtaking," she said.
Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to celebrate love and friendship in the stunning Pembina Valley. Mark your calendar for "Valley-Tines" on February 13th and 14th—an event filled with good food, great company, and lasting memories.
