An up-and-coming Christian singer is gearing up for his debut album release.
Dwsyn's Closer to Your Heart was released today and he is excited to hear what listeners think of the project. "There's one cover on the album of "This is how I Thank the Lord." It's a popular song that most people know and I put a dance spin on it, and I think it's really cool," Dwsyn said.
The album comes after the success of his song, "Drawing Me." The Ottawa, Ont. resident native developed his love for music after hearing from God. "It's something that I've always loved and one day, I just felt God say, 'Just try it. Take a step.' No promises where it's going, but He just said to try something."
He started out by creating piano covers of worship songs, before transitioning to making his own music a couple of years ago. "I'm just doing it myself, you know, figuring it out," he said.
One song featured on the album is "Faithful Then, Faithful Now." He hopes listeners are reminded to trust God's plan. "We can make our own plans, but we're not God. We're going to want things but our plans kind of fail us. If we can submit that to God and trust Him even when I cannot see, like You're in control, that's the theme."
Another track listeners will get to hear is "Who You Are," one he hopes is relatable. "I think all Christians can relate to. Knowing that God healed my heart, and I know who You are. You are loved and it's really that simple."
