This weekend the Big Six hockey league will be back in action with a good few teams looking to get their final points of January.
Tonight the Carnduff Red Devils head to Moosomin to face the Rangers, a battle between two teams in the top half of the standings.
Also during the weekend, the KW Oil Kings take on the Redvers Rockets, the Midale Mustangs host the Oxbow Huskies, and the Carlyle Cougars have a bout against the Wawota Flyers.
Oxbow Huskies Manager Rae Wright talks about their game and what he's expecting from the other team.
"Midale has a good team, they give us a really good game in Oxbow and expect very similar in Midale. They're playing a lot better during the end of the season, so it'll be a tough day."
Wright says that the performances depend on the effort put in, with some good effort out of the 5th-place Huskies so far.
He says that part of that consistency has been getting the same players on the team over the year.
"We don't have a lot of new ones, but with Beinfait folded we got a couple from there. Other than that, obviously the one Davis brother makes a big difference coming back from U of R. But overall, we're very similar to last year."
Wright says that though there are two top teams which are sure to be tough competition come the playoffs, the rest of the league is neck-and-neck.
The last game of January will see the Oxbow Huskies travel to Redvers and take on the Rockets on Sunday.
