Raymond John Ehlert
January 21, 1937 – January 22, 2025

It is with great sadness the family of Raymond John Ehlert announces his passing on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the Quill Plains Centennial Lodge in Watson, Saskatchewan. He was 88 years of age. Raymond was born on January 21, 1937, to Alfred and Rose (née Schmidt) Ehlert, in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. That spring the family moved to the Watson area, where Raymond attended Sproule School. On July 2, 1957, he married Alvina Fetter and began farming south of Watson. At this time Raymond also worked for Leroy Lumber, building many houses in the Leroy, Watson, and Quill Lake areas. The couple extended their family by having four sons, Delwin, Milton, Vernon and Arden. In 1971 the family decided to move to the west of Watson to continue faming until they retired. Other than his family, Raymond had three passions: hunting, fishing and farming. He was a proud member of the Watson/Englefeld Wildlife Federation, Watson Credit Union Board and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Ray is survived by: his wife of 66 years, Alvina; his four sons: Delwin (Truda), Milton (Sheila), Vernon (Colleen), and Arden (Dawne); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as one brother and one sister. He was predeceased by his grandson, Aaron Ehlert; his parents Alfred and Rose Ehlert; and six of his siblings. The Funeral Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Watson, SK, on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10:00 am, celebrated by Fr. Lawrence DeMong, OSB. Others taking part were: Jasmine Ehlert, cross bearer, intentions and eulogist; Sheila Ehlert and Sherry Timmerman, scripture readers; Truda Koenig and Dawne Ehlert, gift bearers; and Kevin and Shauna Otsig, memorial table attendants. Music Ministry was provided by the Sacred Heart Parish Choir. Active pallbearers were Vernon Ehlert, Arden Ehlert, Dylan Ehlert, Shawn Ehlert, Devan Ehlert, and Kris Ehlert. Interment was at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Watson, SK followed by a memorial luncheon in Sacred Heart Church Basement. Memorial donations may be directed to Quill Plains Centennial Lodge (Quill Plains Health Care Foundation-P.O.
