Southern Manitoba is finally getting a well-deserved break from the harsh winter weather. After days of relentless winds, blowing snow, and hazardous travel, the blowing snow advisory has been lifted.

While some outlying areas might still experience brief blowing snow near noon today, most regions are now enjoying calmer conditions and sunshine.

Saturday's temperature will hold steady near -12°C in Winnipeg, with a wind chill making it feel closer to -23°C. Winds from the northwest at 30 km/h, gusting to 50 km/h, will ease later in the day.

Overnight, the skies will turn partly cloudy, and temperatures are expected to rise to -10°C by morning.

A stretch of milder and more pleasant weather on the way

Sunday is expected to bring a mix of sun and cloud, clearing by noon, with a high of -4°C and wind chills easing to -10°C in the afternoon.

By Monday, temperatures will climb above freezing with a high of +1°C and a mix of sun and cloud. Tuesday is expected to hover near zero with a chance of flurries.

This shift in weather offers a welcome reprieve from the deep freeze and harsh winds.
