Broncos Oakley McIlwain named Defenceman of the Week

On the strength of the Humboldt Broncos notching a pair of wins last week, Oakley McIlwain has been named the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s (SJHL) SuperU Defenceman of the Week.  

Last week, McIlwain registered five points (1G-4A) in the Broncos victories over the Nipawin Hawks and the Notre Dame Hounds. In the Broncos road victory in Nipawin, McIlwain had three points (1G-2A).  

In his second campaign with the Broncos, the Lloydminster AB product has collected 31 points (9G-22A) in 36 games.  

The 19-year-old was previously named the Defenceman of the Month for December. 

This week, McIlwain is one of six Broncos who are in Winnipeg for the SJ/MJ showcase in Winnipeg.
