UPDATE: Division 1 election results vacated in R.M. of Weyburn

There will be a by-election called in the R.M. of Weyburn in the coming weeks. 

Discover Weyburn has learned the Court of King’s Bench has vacated the results of the election for Division 1 in the R.M. that was held in November. The ruling from Justice C.L. Dawson removed Doug Dembiczak from the seat. The application for the judicial review of the election was brought forward by Michael Dorsch, who was defeated by a single vote in the election.  

The timing of the election is uncertain, a decision will not be made until the February 14th council meeting. More information is expected to be released by the RM later today.
