The SJHL-MJHL Showcase wrapped up on Wednesday in Winnipeg.

Following the first day of action with the three SJHL squads combining for a pair of wins and an overtime loss, the MJHL rebounded on the second day sweeping the three games including a shootout victory.

The opening game of the day saw MJHL Black defeat the SJHL Gold 5-1 in a U20 battle.

Flin Flon’s Anthony Piccinnino had the lone goal for the SJHL team.

In the second U20 game, SJHL White dropped a close contest to MJHL Red 6-4.

The MJHL Red squad held a 5-3 advantage before the Humboldt Broncos forward Jacob Strizzi scored to cut the deficit to 5-4.

An empty net goal would seal the win for the MHL Red.

In the final game of the Showcase, the U18 teams faced off for the second straight night, with the Manitoba squad picking up a 3-2 shootout win.

The SJHL teams end the showcase with an even 2-2-2 record.

Regular season action in the SJHL resumes on Friday, including the Humboldt Broncos visiting the Battlefords North Stars.
