WATCH: Major pile-up closes down QEII southbound earlier in Airdrie

A major collision involving many vehicles had shut down the QEII southbound between Veterans Boulevard and Yankee Valley Boulevard but has since reopened.

Crews were on the scene tending to the situation.

Airdrie RCMP is asking motorists to avoid travel if possible due to the current road conditions.

Snow was forecasted to continue throughout the day.
