Dazza Mitchell celebrates with the rest of the Broncos following a goal
Categories

The first month for goaltender Dazza Mitchell with the Humboldt Broncos has been a successful one and that was reaffirmed on Tuesday as he was named the Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Month for the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for the month of January.

Mitchell was traded to the Broncos from the Weyburn Red Wings on January 3rd. Since joining the green and gold, the Regina product started in seven of the nine games Humboldt played in January.

The 20-year-old posted a record of 4-2-0-1, with a 2.68 GAA and a 926 SV% and played a big role in the Broncos current seven-game point streak with a veteran presence inside of the team’s crease.

Here are the remaining players of the month from the SJHL for January 2025.

SGEU MVP of the Month: Keefe Gruener, Flin Flon Bombers

Bourgault Forward of the Month: David Coyle, Yorkton Terriers

SuperU Defenceman of the Month: Max Chakrabarti, Weyburn Red Wings

Sasktel Goalie of the Month: Matthew Kieper, Flin Flon Bombers

IKS Media Rookie of the Month: Steven Steranka, Estevan Bruins

Next action for the Humboldt Broncos is Wednesday night as they host the Estevan Bruins. Coverage on Bolt FM begins at 6:45, with the opening faceoff at 7:00.
