Several churches in Winnipeg are gathering together for a night of worship and prayer.
On February 14, Methodist Missionary Chapel Canada is hosting "Breaking News Night."
Revd. Bamidele Oni says, "This is actually an instruction from the Lord, and it's the intention of this watch. The night is a night of prayer, worship, signs, and wonders."
The team of Evangelist Lovemore Savanhu, worship leader Kelly B. Wiens, Apostle Ademola Atilola, and Revd. Bamidele Oni wants to welcome in the community, no matter what church they attend. "It's not a church thing, it's a people thing to heal people," Oni said.
"This is about the Kingdom of God. This is about us believers coming together to allow God to do what He wants to do. We know that when we unite together as a body of Christ, that is the only way Winnipeg will handle the enemy. We all know the enemy, who brings confusion, who brings all these afflictions, and addictions. When we come together and agree in prayer. The Bible says God will command the blessing," Evangelist Lovemore Savanhu said.
Oni wants people to come to be able to experience God. "To deliver people and to bring people that walk in darkness into the presence of this light."This 'Breaking News Night' is a night that the name of Jesus and His power break forth over the City of Winnipeg in diverse miracles, signs, and wonder."
The entire evening is going to be guided by the Holy Spirit, Lovemore says. "God has told us we will be surprised by the things that we are going to see. This is not just for a miracle. We are inviting people to come and encounter the power of God."
While this is the first Breaking News night, Oni says it will become a regular event happening each quarter.
The "Breaking News Night" is at 50 Barnes Street at 11 p.m.
Oni said the late start time was decided for a specific reason. "Most often if you look at the ministry of our Lord Jesus, most of the miracles recorded were after He Himself came from a watch night. He goes for a watch, night prayer and by the time He's coming back, He's coming with the power."
For those who are unable to attend in person, Oni said that it will be live-streamed and saved to watch later on the Methodist Missionary Chapel Canada website.
