The I Love to Read month celebrations continued as Golden West host Jayme Giesbrecht and news team member Alexander Peters visited Winkler Elementary School—the very school they both attended!

Jayme had the Grade 2 students buzzing with excitement when she asked if they love to read, met with a chorus of enthusiastic “YES!” responses. Meanwhile, Alexander captivated the kids with his incredible character voices, as they were fascinated to learn that he’s also a voice actor for video games. The highlight? When they eagerly asked if he could do Mario!

Ashley joined the fun on behalf of Friesens Corporation, and shocked the students by telling them that Friesens prints 25 million books a YEAR. Each student received a copy of "We Need Everyone" by Michael Redhead Champagne, illustrated by Tiff Bartel. The visit was filled with laughter, nostalgia, and a shared love for reading.
