Linda Muckle

MAY 12, 1960 – SEPTEMBER 20, 2021

It is with extreme profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Linda Muckle in the presence of her family and close friends by her side. Linda will be welcomed in the gates of Heaven by her loving husband Jimmy Scott who she missed dearly. In Heaven Linda and Jimmy will be reunited as one soul.

Linda was predeceased by her parents; Mary and Maurice Muckle Sr., grandparents Josephine and William Kent, James Muckle, siblings Jack, Josephine and Frances Kent. Aunts and uncles John Kent, Robert, Rex, Ivan and Cecilia Muckle. Cousins William (Billy) Kent, Johnny, Stanley and Maryann Muckle, Roy Kent. Nieces and nephew Maryann Mandamin, Karen and Terrence Kent. Her beautiful grandsons Ashton and Baby Boy Muckle. Linda’s in-laws who adored her: Mary Jane (Poozh) and Cornelius Scott.

Linda will leave to cherish her memory her loving sons; Bruce and Marcel (Rina) Muckle and Waylon Scott. Linda always had a story to share about her sons, they were either funny or parental but in her eyes she was proud of them. One memory Linda always shared was when Waylon became the youngest Council Member of Wabaseemoong, he was only 18 and she couldn’t believe later that he would become the Chief. Linda is also survived by her brothers; Philip (Gladys) Kent and Maurice Muckle Jr., as well as many younger relatives too numerous to mention, her grandchildren who she adored and loved so much; Konrad, Sage, Shannae, Helina, Marcey, Kathleen, Sasha, Sherri-ann, Marcel Jr. and Melina. She enjoyed being a great grandmother to KL, Kiera Leigh Cardinal-Muckle, her pride and joy. Linda cherished the company of her ex-daughter in law who helped her and kept her company throughout her days when she needed a hand; Krystal Paddy.

Linda and Jimmy shared a loving relationship to a special girl who they welcomed to their family, this girl was a gem in their eyes and loved her unconditionally; Jennae Boyd. Not to forget their puppies, who she treated as her babies; Johnny, Gracie Girl, G2, Stipe, Qwayzance and Chance.

Linda was a very loving Aunt to; Audrey Mandamin, Jackie Scott, Jay (Josephine), Glen (Cathy), Kelvin (Barb), Marilyn, James (Tonia) and Jacqueline (Harvey) Kent, Philip Mandamin Jr. (Laura), Bonnie and Joey (Christine) Mandamin and her loving niece Pauline Kent. She enjoyed life with her first cousins; Florence, Kenneth (Joy) Carpenter, Annette Muckle who Linda grew up with, Mavis, Charles (Charlene), Melvina (Roger), Nancy, Wayne (Myra) and Tanya Muckle, Tasha Pembleton, Erica Sawnas, Davey and Melvin Muckle. Linda had a fond memory for every one of her relatives.

Linda was born and raised in Whitedog, Ontario, she attended school in Whitedog as well. She was a beautiful young lady who started off working for her brother’s local store as a cashier. Linda met the love of her life Jimmy in Whitedog and started a family with three boys. Their love for reach other has always been strong. She was a cheerful lady, her smile was contagious. Linda later joined to be a First responder and volunteered many years responding to calls, helping people and saving many lives.

She was a committed FRT volunteer. Linda was a very compassionate leader and always putting people first before her, that’s the life Linda had, caring, respectful an very loving. Throughout her life Linda continued helping the people of Whitedog and raising her children, being a faithful wife, she has always made the time to be there for you, to provide a hand and shoulder to cry on. She had a very kind heart. One of her favorite hobbies she had was her hunting trips she used to do. Most of the time when they would get a moose they would harvest it and always went to the Elders in the community and outside of the community. Linda shipped moose meat to some people in Winnipeg. They not only hunted moose, but deer and ducks. Each Thanksgiving Linda would have a big feast featuring her traditional foods and she would invite all her family and friends. She was also a Crisis intervention Worker, a very active member to various committees. She also loved driving around with friends and family whether they were short or long rides. Linda’s favourite place to travel was to Las Vegas, she always shared beautiful memories of those trips she had with her husband.

She attended many Gospel meetings where she later accepted God as her Saviour.

Linda will be dearly missed by her close friends who she was with, confided with and trusted; Kathleen Dushone, Colleen Quewezance, Colleen Paishk, Patrick paishk, her niece Pauline Kent and her sister/cousin; Annette Muckle. Her hunting friends; Clifford Muckle, Darryl Land, Erica Baptiste, Cory Boyd, Patrick henry, Gavin and Colleen Boyd. As well as many other friends from Gospel, Medics, Police Officers and the Lake Vu staff.

The family of Linda Muckle would like to send gratitude and thank you to the following people that were with her on her last day; who comforted her, assured her that she was loved and made sure that her days ahead were safe; Annette Muckle, Pauline Kent, Rose Kelly, Colleen Paishk, Colleen Quewezance, Melvina Muckle and those who visited her Krystal, Shannae, Sage and Philip Kent.

Also thank you to; Lake of the Woods Hospital 3rd Floor Nurses, Dr. Noack, who went above and beyond. Special thank you to Dr. Kyle, Wabaseemoong Independent Nations and to all those who have supported the family through this difficult time.

Pallbearers will be her Hunting trip friends. Honorary pallbearers will be close friends and family.

Wake service will begin on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Mizhakiiwetung Memorial School Gymnasium. Funeral Service will be officiated by Roderick Mandamin on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Mizhakiiwetung Memorial School Gymnasium with Gospel singing by Louise Mandamin and Ernie Kematch. Burial will follow in Wabaseemoong First Nation.
