It’s the final stretch of the regular season in the Saskatchewan ‘AA’ hockey leagues, as teams try to jockey for positioning in the playoff race.

In the U18 AA and U15 AA the top eight teams make the playoffs, while in the U13 AA playoffs, the top seven teams make the postseason.

The U18 AA Humboldt Broncos are in seventh spot heading into the weekend with five games remaining on their regular season schedule. They will play three of those games this weekend, with a western road trip. On Friday night, they’re in Unity to meet the West Central Wheat Kings, then on Saturday they meet the North West Stars in Battlefords and then wrapping up their trip with a second game against the Stars. The U18 AA Broncos are two points back of Prince Albert for 6th spot and four points back of the 5th place Saskatoon Eagles.

Last night the U15 AA Humboldt Broncos defeated the Saskatoon Outlaws 5-3, moving the U15 AA Broncos into the final playoff spot and two points back of the Outlaws for 7th place. The U15 AA Broncos have three games remaining on their schedule, all home games at the Elgar Petersen Arena. On Saturday afternoon, they host the Saskatoon Bandits at 12:30.

The U13 AA Humboldt Broncos finish off their regular season this weekend with two games at the Elgar Petersen Arena. On Friday night, they host the Warman Wildcats at 7:00 and then Sunday afternoon in the regular season finale they meet the West Central Wheat Kings at 1:15. The U13 AA Broncos are tied with Martensville and the Saskatoon Express for the final three playoff spots and are one point back of the Saskatoon Fury for 4th place.
