Frances Bahniuk

MAY 6, 1931 – OCTOBER 21, 2021

As Frances ordered, it’s time to sharpen her toes and find a big mallet to get her into the ground. She passed away peacefully October 21, 2021. In May, she celebrated the 51st anniversary of her 39th birthday. She was a loving Mother, cherished Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bill (Beaver), daughter Kathy, parents Jay & Florence Schram, siblings and in-laws, Peter & Katherine Bahniuk, Thelma & Art Olson, Sidney & Violet Schram, Jean & Roy Legarie, Harold & Jacqueline Schram, Lawrence & Grace Schram, Steve & Mary Bahniuk.

She is survived by her sister Irene (Stan) Olson, Bill & Michele Taylor (Aiden, Caelyn), Linda & Michael Zilinski, Leah & Paul Laing (Jade, Joslynn, Raven) Tracy Nicchitta, (Brooklyn, Kylee), Joelle & Jeff Schmidt (Vienna, Victoria), Helen Bahniuk-Brown, Ed, Bridgitte Brown, Max & Christine Brown (Christine, Lauren, Elizabeth) and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

So many words come to mind when we think of our loving, mischievous, talented mother and grandmother who loved to have fun with her family and friends. Her hands were rarely idle. She knitted sweaters for us, completed petit point pictures for each of us, kept us in the latest fashion, sewing until the wee hours of the morning. Now it is easy to understand why she slept until 11 as she went to bed around 5 am after time alone sewing, completing or starting a new project. We fondly remember apple pie, cinnamon buns, homemade bread and other scrumptious baking, along with pizza buns, ice cream, playing Mario, cheering at games, bazooka water guns, Patrick Swayze, and her wise cracks for all situations.

She will be missed and remembered for her smile, humour and feistiness by most people that had the opportunity to meet her. If you knew her, you likely have a memory that can make you laugh. She always extended a warm welcome, however, she would put you in your place if she thought you were being unfair or unkind to someone.

Rest In Peace, sweet little lady.

Flowers are gratefully declined.
