A small wildfire in a large slash pile in the Tsuu T'ina Nation just north of Bragg Creek and close to the Rocky View County boundary was quickly brought under control by multiple fire services, including Cochrane, late Feb. 21.
The combined efforts of the Redwood Meadows, Rocky View, Foothills, and Cochrane firefighters successfully limited its spread within two hours.
Shortly before midnight, Redwood Meadows Emergency Services reported the fire had been turned over to Tsuut'ina fire officials to monitor throughout the night.

Earlier in the evening, Rocky View County assured residents the fire posed no immediate threat to structures or residences. They said an evacuation wasn't required at that time but advised residents to remain alert.
Crews quickly established fire breaks and secured additional water supplies from the truck fill station at the Bragg Creek Water Treatment Plant. The fire was closely monitored due to windy conditions.
