The Estevan Extreme Volleyball Club's 15UW team had a great weekend, coming out from a tournament with a championship win.

They were at the Surge Showdown in Weyburn on the weekend, competing against eight other teams for the top spot.

Their first games in pool play had the team in a dominant position, going undefeated with wins over Regina Aces (25-16, 25-16), Regina QCVC Royal White (25-20, 25-17), and host team Weyburn Surge (25-22, 25-17).

Thanks to their strong play they secured a first-place finish in their pool and a spot in the semifinals.

It was a tough match in the semis, as the team battled the Moose Jaw Thunder Creek, just barely winning in a tight first set before closing it out in two (30-28, 25-19).

The final saw the Estevan team take on the hometown Weyburn Surge in a rematch, where the team managed to bounce back from their first lost set of the day to claim the championship in three sets (19-25, 25-19, 15-9).

The 13UW Estevan Extreme team also saw a bit of success as they won the Humboldt Chaos Volleyball tournament.

Their first game saw split sets against the Humboldt Chaos (26-24, 21-25) before the team won against the JCVC Red Team (25-16, 25-22). The third game saw another split set outcome against the Central Valley Volleyball Club (25-15, 23-25).

The last pool play game for Estevan netted them a win against the Lanigan Volleyball Club (25-14, 25-15).

After placing first in their pool, they played the Route 20 Renegades in the Semi Final and won in straight sets (25-12, 25-9). With the finals set, the team won against the Central Valley Volleyball Club again to take home the championship. (25-18, 20-25, 15-8)
