The Estevan Comprehensive School (ECS) Girls Curling Team is heading to provincials after an impressive performance at regionals in Wawota on Feb. 28 and March 1.
ECS earned their spot by winning the B Qualifier in dramatic fashion. The team opened the tournament with a narrow 6-5 loss to Regina Martin but bounced back with a dominant 10-3 victory over Yorkton Regional. On Saturday, they got revenge against Regina Martin with a commanding 10-0 win, setting up a high-stakes B Qualifier final against Yorkton Sacred Heart.
In a back-and-forth battle, ECS and Yorkton Sacred Heart were tied heading into the final end, where ECS had the hammer. The game came down to a measurement, and ECS emerged victorious with an 11-10 win, punching their ticket to provincials.
The team will now compete for a provincial title, with their first game set for Friday at 10 a.m. against Moose Jaw Peacock.
