Even with the snow still on the ground, the Weyburn Minor Ball Association has been busy getting softball and baseball players ready for the 2025 season. The first round of registration has closed on softball; however, baseball registration is now open. Whitney Johnson, president of Weyburn Minor Softball, talks about the exciting events upcoming.
“We are just gearing up for the season. This is the time when we start to run some skills clinics, development clinics. Later this month, we have a softball clinic being put on by some Regina Cougars and then later this month, we have a softball skills camp on March 29th, for ages U9 to U17.”
With softball fully underway, baseball isn’t far behind. Registration is open for baseball for the 2025 year, which ends on March 15th. There are late registration periods for both softball and baseball starting on March 20th, however Johnson recommends you get registered sooner rather than later.
“Right now, we have our baseball registration going until the 15th of March and then come March 20th, is when we'll open up registration again for those that missed the first time. We always get quite a few late registrations and unfortunately there's a fee with that. If you missed the boat on the first time around, now is your chance to get in.”
