One person is dead and another critically injured after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 22 on Sunday evening.

Didsbury and Sundre RCMP responded to the crash at approximately 5:30 p.m. on March 2 near Township Road 312. Officers found a Dodge Journey and a Ford F-150 in the northbound lane. The Dodge was fully engulfed in flames.
The driver of the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford F-150 was airlifted to a Calgary hospital in critical condition by STARS Air Ambulance.
In an initial release, RCMP said the collision occurred near Highway 582, and the highway was closed as emergency crews responded. A subsequent update on Wednesday clarified the location as near Township Road 312 and provided further details on the vehicles involved and the severity of injuries.
A collision reconstructionist attended the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
Highway 22 was closed for several hours while emergency crews worked at the site.
RCMP extended condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and the injured driver.
