The Estevan Bears are on the cusp of making history in their playoff run, as they prepare to face off against the Moose Jaw Warriors in Game 4 on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. at Affinity Place. With a chance to clinch their first-ever playoff series win, the Bears are focused on finishing strong after a hard-fought Game 3 victory.

The Bears faced a tough start in their most recent matchup, with head coach Ryan Pilon noting that the team struggled in the first period. "We were lucky to get out of the first period just down 1-0," he said. Despite weathering the early storm, the Bears responded well in the second period, scoring two quick goals to tie the game. "When we needed to get going, I thought the boys had a good response," he added.

In the third period, the Bears found their legs and played with confidence. A quick goal early in the period gave the team a boost, helping them lock down the game and secure the win. "The players' mentality really helped after that early goal," Pilon said. "We locked it down really well."

With the series tied at 2-1, Saturday’s game in Estevan will be crucial. A win would send the Bears to the second round of playoffs, though they are still awaiting the outcome of the Regina versus Prince Albert game to learn their potential next opponent.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Pilon noted the importance of staying focused. "The final clinching game is always the hardest," he said. "We've won two games, but we haven't accomplished anything yet. We need to make sure we take care of our business."

Fans can expect an exciting and physical game on Saturday, as the Bears and Warriors continue their intense playoff battle. "It's been physical. It's been chippy, just like you want a playoff series to be," Pilon said. "The boys have elevated their game, and it's been an exciting brand of hockey."

With a playoff series win in sight, the Bears are determined to keep their momentum going. "The boys have a lot of character," Pilon said. "We're looking to close it out and have our first playoff series win in Bears history."

Saturday's game is shaping up to be an exciting contest as the Bears look to take the next step in their playoff journey.
