Estevan police responded to a variety of calls recently, handling incidents such as impaired driving, domestic disturbances, theft, and public safety. Several arrests were made, traffic checks conducted, and officers worked alongside community organizations to ensure public safety.

On March 6, officers arrested a 40-year-old woman for breaching her conditional sentence order, discovering a bladed weapon and methamphetamine in her residence during a conditions check. Police responded to a complaint about a man going through a dumpster behind a local business. After speaking with him, he was sent on his way. Officers also attended a domestic disturbance, which remains under investigation.

Several traffic and sobriety checks were conducted on March 5 and 6, with suspended drivers and unregistered vehicles identified. Two individuals were arrested for breaching their release conditions, and one person was arrested for obstructing a peace officer by providing a false name during an investigation. EPS, along with the Crisis Team (PACT), assisted on several calls.

On March 7, EPS responded to a gas drive-off at a local service station, obtaining a license plate and working to contact the vehicle's registered owner. A suspicious person was reported in a local park; after speaking with the youth, officers transported them home. EPS, along with Estevan Fire and Rescue, attended a two-vehicle collision, with one vehicle requiring towing.

A report of power theft from a residential property was received, and the investigation is ongoing. A missing youth was reported, but had safely returned home by the time officers began investigating. Following a traffic stop, a female was arrested for impaired driving after providing two breath samples, both showed that her blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 140 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood (140 mg%). In a separate case, a 17-year-old driver had a "warn" reading, resulting in a vehicle impound and license suspension. A 16-year-old passenger was also in the vehicle, which extended the mandatory vehicle impound.

On March 8, EPS assisted EMS with a medical emergency at a local business. Officers responded to a domestic disturbance between a father and son. The son, found under the influence of drugs despite being under court-ordered conditions to abstain, was arrested and lodged in cells until sober, facing charges for breaching his release conditions.

Police investigated a report of a youth drinking and driving; the vehicle was located with several youths having open alcohol. While the driver passed a roadside breath test, the occupants received tickets under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act for having open alcohol in the vehicle. Officers assisted in escorting an unwanted individual from a residence and, in another case, helped remove a male from a licensed establishment after he refused to leave.

During two separate traffic stops, oral fluid drug tests resulted in a 3-day license suspension and a 3-day vehicle impound, and in another stop, a 21-day license suspension and a 7-day vehicle impound due to a previous suspension. Police responded to a 911 hang-up call, which turned out to be a domestic disturbance. No criminal activity was identified, and those involved were separated for the night. EPS also investigated a report of a vehicle taken without consent, which remains under investigation.

On March 9, police conducted a curfew check on a male under a conditional sentence order, finding him absent from his approved residence. He will be arrested for breaching his CSO once located. Officers responded to an excessive noise complaint, finding the noise reasonable and taking no enforcement action.
