The Lanigan Pirates season came to an end with a 4-3 loss to the Wilkie Outlaws in the North finals in Senior ‘C’ Provincials, losing the best of three series 2-0.
Wilkie will meet the Foam Lake Flyers in the Senior ‘C’ Provincial finals after the Flyers eliminated the Assiniboia Rebels on Saturday with a 7-5 home ice victory. The series begins on Friday in Foam Lake. Game two is next Saturday in Wilkie and if necessary, game three is Sunday, March 22 in Wilkie.
Tonight, the Long Lake Hockey League championship finals will get underway as Foam Lake hosts the Drake Canucks in Game one. This is the only scheduled game of the series so far.
In the Wheatland Hockey League, the Tisdale Ramblers advanced to the League finals, eliminating the Jansen Jets in Game 5 on Friday night in Tisdale. The Ramblers will meet the Kinistino Tigers in the league finals.
The Twin Rivers Hockey League finals will feature the Allan Flames and Willow Cree Chiefs. Allan advanced to the finals by defeating the Birch Hills Blackhawks in four games while the Chiefs finished off the Rosthern Wheat Kings in four games. No games in the league finals have been scheduled.
