The Estevan Comprehensive School Senior Girls Curling Team had a strong showing at Provincials, finishing in 4th place after a competitive weekend of play.

The team opened the tournament on Friday with two impressive victories. In their first game, they faced off against Moose Jaw Peacock, coming out on top with a dominant 9-1 win. They followed that up with another strong performance, defeating Saskatoon Holy Cross 7-4. This win secured the team's spot in the playoffs on Saturday.

Saturday proved to be a tougher challenge, with the girls battling through three tough games. Despite their best efforts, they were on the losing end of each match, including a 7-4 loss to North Battleford Comp in the bronze medal game.

"The competition was incredibly tough," said Coach Jessie Smoliak. "Every team was capable of winning, and our team gave it their all."

The weekend was a great learning experience for the ECS girls, who were one of the youngest teams at the competition, featuring three Grade 10 students and a Grade 9 student. In contrast, every other team had at least one Grade 12 player.

Ultimately, Saskatoon Holy Cross triumphed in the final, defeating Kincaid to claim the championship.

With two more league games remaining in the season, the ECS Senior Girls Curling Team is looking forward to finishing strong. They will carry the lessons and experience from this weekend as they continue to build for the future.
