March madness continues in Saskatchewan this weekend with High School Basketball Regionals across the province.

The St. Brieux Crusaders will be hosting the 2A Boys and Girls Regionals with games on Friday and Saturday as both teams enter as the number one seed.

Head Coach Ryan Trumbley said that both teams are carrying over the success they experienced last year.

“The boys won last year, and we only graduated two and the girls placed silver, and they only lost a couple as well. So, we both brought back similar teams.”

Trumbley added both teams have momentum heading into Regionals.

“The girls have been really strong all year, the boys have turned it on over the last couple of months.”

Action in St. Brieux begins on Friday at 2:15 with the Crusaders boys team hosting Marengo. The other Boys game will begin at 4:30 with a matchup between Lashburn and Foam Lake. The winners will meet at 3:15 on Saturday, with the winner advancing to HOOPLA in Saskatoon the following weekend. The consolation final will be at 11:45 am.

On the Girls side, the Crusaders will host Hudson Bay at 6:15. The other Girls matchup on Friday will see Saskatoon Christian School meet Davidson at 8:00. On Saturday, the winners meet at 1:30 for a spot at HOOPLA. The consolation final is at 10:00 am.
