St. Brieux Crusaders girls and boys teams are off to Hoopla this coming weekend, both striving for a provincial victory.

SHSAA Regional Basketball has a number of local winners off to the provincial Hoopla Tournament this coming weekend in Saskatoon.  

St. Brieux boys and girls teams advance to the provincial championship in 2A play. The boys tipped off against Marengo on Friday in their opening game in St. Brieux, ending up with a decisive 103 – 43 win. They next faced Lashburn and again dominated play with an 89 – 51 win. 

On the girls side, the Crusaders knocked off Hudson Bay in their opener 76 – 35 and then went to work on Saskatoon Christian to secure their provincial spot with a 76 – 31 victory.  

Both Wynyard and Lanigan head to the show in the 3A girls category. Wynyard made its way to provincials by virtue of its75 – 25 win over Rosthern Junior College and an 80 – 40 decision over Maple Creek.  

Meanwhile, Lanigan polished off Biggar in short order, 106 – 28, and went on to double up Valley Christian Academy, 67 – 32. 

Foam Lake broke through to the provincial ranks in 1A girls with wins over Rocanville, 56 – 23 and Hepburn with a hard fought 64 – 55 victory. 

Teams head to Saskatoon for their provincial showdown at Hoopla starting this Friday.
