Homebase in Humboldt and the Humboldt Regional Newcomer Centre are pleased to welcome Saskatchewan’s Youth Poet Laureate Dash Reimer to Humboldt for a pair of events.
Reimer will appear at Homebase at 307 Main Street for a spoken word workshop for youth. Dash will guide participants through the creative process of crafting personal and powerful poems, and all that required is creativity. Those aged 12 – 25 years of age are eligible to participate.
That will be followed up by an Open Mic Evening at the Humboldt and District Gallery. Members of the community can listen to and perform spoken word poetry. The event is open to anyone. To participate as a performer, follow the link to the registration form.
Reimer is an artist and educator based out of Treaty 6 in Saskatoon, He is Saskatchewan’s fifth Youth Poet Laureate. Working within the worlds of poetry and hip hop, he has a decade of performing experience across the country and in places such as Africa and Turkey. He’s been an enthusiastic contributor to a variety of artistic enterprises including playwriting, chapbook making, jazz combos, improve troupes and other ventures.
