All three Cochrane Kodaks youth basketball teams competing in the Alberta Basketball Youth Provincials have returned with medals to cap off their highly successful seasons.
Hot off of winning their respective Calgary Div. 3 titles, the U13 girls and U13 boys teams both struck gold. The U15 girls Div. 3 team came home with bronze.

The U13 Girls Kodiaks were undefeated in all three of their games. A 47-35 win against CalWest in their final game sealed the deal.
The core of this team of emerging basketball players has been playing together for several years, assistant coach Blaire Conrad told Cochrane Now last week. She said they have won silver in both the city championships and provincials for the past three years, bringing home gold was the hope this time around.

U13 boys head coach Sheldon Theriault says the team notched up their play even higher after playing a season-best in their gold medal performance at the city championships.
"I think that momentum and confidence carried over. I'd like to take some sort of credit for it as a coach, but it was all these boys just trusting each other and feeding off that gold medal win last weekend."
They had lopsided wins in all three of their games and beat Ogden 81-46 in their final matchup.

The U15 girls won bronze at the city championships and repeated the feat at provincials.
They bounced back from a close 58-53 loss against Calwest in their opening game to defeat Dumont, 65-36, then claimed bronze after winning a51-44 game against Bow River.
