Cochrane RCMP are currently on the scene of a serious two-vehicle collision on Highway 1A at the intersection of Mountain Ridge Place, just east of Cochrane.

The crash has led to significant traffic disruptions, with emergency responders redirecting traffic in all directions.

Cpl. Troy Savinkoff stated, “We’re responding to a very serious two-vehicle collision in a difficult spot. Highway 1A is a major route into Calgary, and we’ve had to shut it down in both directions. This will likely impact traffic for a few hours, especially during the morning commute.”

Savinkoff advised commuters traveling out of Cochrane to consider using Highway 1 as an alternate route into Calgary.
