The following is the RCMP report to March 17, 2025. This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.
- 11 traffic violations
- 3 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)
- 12 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)
- 13 crimes against property
- 4 other criminal code
- 9 crimes against person
- 1 traffic accidents
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks. RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks. You require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check.
Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.
Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.
Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.
YOUTH CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS
Criminal record checks cannot be done on youth unless working in Government. It has been established that non-provincially or municipally run summer camps and pools, public/private schools including colleges/universities are not government employers.

Police responded to a call for an assault in Killarney. Police attended and separated the parties involved. No charges were laid.
Police received a request for a wellbeing check in Killarney. All parties were located safe.
March 2, 2025
Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Deloraine. Members attended and spoke with the parties involved and the matter was concluded.
March 3, 2025
Police received a report of a possible fraud in Pleasant Valley. After further investigation police determined it was not a fraud and the matter was concluded.
March 4, 2025
Police received a report of theft in the RM of Argyle. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in Belmont. The vehicle was towed.
March 5, 2025
Police received a report of theft in Boissevain. Information was provided by the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police responded to a call under the 911 act in Boissevain. A vehicle SOS button had been activated. Police confirmed the SOS was accidental and police were not required.
Police received a request for a wellbeing check in Killarney. All parties were located safe.
March 6, 2025
Police responded to a call for disturbing the peace in Killarney. Police provided the person involved with a ride home and the matter was concluded.
March 7, 2025
Police received a report of a possible fraud in Killarney. Police were able to follow up with the family and determined no fraud had actually taken place.
Police received a report under the family law act in Boissevain. Police were able to provide the complainant with additional information and options for moving forward.
March 10, 2025
Police received a report of mischief in Cartwright. Police followed up with the complainant and provided additional information on options moving forward.
Police received a report of fraud in Killarney. After further investigation it was determined no fraud had taken place and the matter was concluded.
March 11, 2025
Police received a report of a theft of vehicle in the RM of Argyle. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received an animal complaint in Boissevain. The matter is under investigation.
Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in Killarney. All parties were located safe.
March 12, 2025
Police responded to a call under the 911 act in Deloraine. Upon arrival police determined they were not required as the matter was not a police issue.
Police received a report under the trespass act in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received a report of mischief in Dunrea. Police followed up with the complainant and provided options for moving forward as the situation was currently not a police matter.
Police received a report of fraud in Baldur. The complainant was attempting to purchase an item off Facebook buy and sell, however the address provided was not an accurate address for pick up. The suspect requested a deposit to hold the item however the complainant did not provide one. The complainant was reporting for information purposes.
March 13, 2025
Police responded to a 911 call for an assault in Killarney. The parties were separated and the victim declined to proceed with charges therefor the matter was concluded.
March 14, 2025
Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in Killarney. All parties were located safe.
Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. Police spoke with the parties involved and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report under the trespass act in Boissevain. Police were able to locate the suspect and the matter was concluded without charges.
March 16, 2025
Police received a report of a theft of truck in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.
Police received an animal complaint in Boissevain. The matter is under investigation.
Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Belmont.
Police responded to a call for a wellbeing check in the RM of Cartwright-Roblin.
Police received a report of possession of stolen property in the RM of Argyle. The matter is under investigation.
Police received a report of theft in Dunrea. Police attended and followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed at this time.
Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Killarney.

It is important to report ALL thefts, stolen or lost property to police in a timely fashion so that it can be followed up on by police.

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know. If you feel that you have been contacted by a fraudulent source, please contact police or Canadian Antifraud Center immediately for further instructions on what you can do. Canadian Antifraud Centre can be reached directly at 1-888-495-8501, however also report same to the local detachment.
Due to the many reports of vehicle thefts, the public is reminded to secure parked and unattended vehicles and refrain from leaving valuables in plain view.

Boissevain Detachment business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
