One person died in a two-vehicle collision in Cochrane early Wednesday morning.
Cochrane RCMP responded to the crash on Highway 1A, at the intersection of Mountain Ridge Place, east of Cochrane at approximately 5:15 a.m.
Mounties report the 35-year-old man driving one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both occupants of the other vehicle were taken to hospital. One was airlifted by STARS in critical condition and the other was transported by ground ambulance with serious but stable, non life-threatening injuries.
The Highway was closed to traffic for several hours as crews investigated the incident.
The road has since reopened to traffic.
