The Best Damn Country Bar Tour is making its way to Cochrane, promising a night of non-stop music and high-energy performances at the Texas Gate Bar & Grill tonight (Mar 21).
The Alberta-based tour has been packing venues across the province, with country artist Jeff Catto calling it a “big party” featuring some of the best up-and-coming artists.
“We decided to get a bunch of friends together and do this tour called the Best Damn Country Bar,” says Catto. “We’ve played a couple of sold-out shows, and it’s been a really good time having a bunch of artists on the same stage at the same time, just having a party.”
The lineup includes Jeff Catto, Lauren Mayell, Nik Poli, Berlyn, and Reed Salmon, with doors opening at 7 p.m. and the show running until 9:30 p.m. Tickets are available in advance for $10 at the venue or $20 at the door.
Audience members can expect a unique concert experience where all the artists stay on stage for the entire show.
“If I’m singing ‘Cadillac Ranch’ and leading it, you know, Nik Poli might jump in on the chorus. It’s just a big thing, a lot of great time,” Catto says.
The tour has made stops in various bars across Alberta, with each venue bringing its own atmosphere. Catto says he hopes Cochrane will bring the energy to make it a standout stop.
“People are coming to party. Each place has its own vibe and its own group of people, but the vibe of the tour itself is party time."
Catto is no stranger to Cochrane, having performed in the area before, including at last year’s Bow Valley Boot Stomp.

“Every single time I come out, I always have a group of people that seems to be following along and coming out. It’s been great,” he says.
“You got to go down to the Gate to grab your ticket. The show is starting a little earlier this time around, so come in and say hi around 7 p.m.,” Catto says.
