At around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to a recreational facility in the 1200 block of St. James for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian.

As she waited for them to arrive, another vehicle arrived and the woman standing in the spot, and the 40-year-old driver of the vehicle, got into an argument over saving the spot.

The driver then proceeded to drive into the spot, knocking the victim to the ground and trapping her under the front tires of the SUV.

The vehicle then fled the scene without checking on the victim.

The woman in her 30s was transported to the hospital in stable condition for lower body injuries.

Police were able to locate the driver and place her under arrest a short time later.
