Every once in a while, the unexpected will happen right before your eyes. Typically, when you're cruising down a dirt road and you spot a coyote, they are on the move immediately. For whatever reason this one decided it was "friendly day" and decided to just sit and watch me, watching it.
The entire shoot lasted about 10 minutes at a very close distance. It was not concerned about me in any way. It would move a little and then sit like a dog and just monitor me. After the 10 minutes a half ton came along, and this coyote bolted like you wouldn't believe. The truck hadn't even got close to us, this coyote wasn't waiting for it to pass by. It was gone and not looking back.
