The Foam Lake Flyers captured the ‘C’ Provincial championship in Wilkie on Saturday.  

It marked the first time the Flyers claimed a Provincial championship. 

It required overtime, but the Flyers defeated the Outlaws 7-6, to win the best of three series 2-0.  

Brett Peppler scored the overtime winner for Foam Lake. 

This weekend, the Flyers will try and add to their trophy case as they renew their series with the Drake Canucks in the Long Lake Hockey League finals. The series is tied 1-1, game three is Friday night in Foam Lake. Game four is Saturday in Drake. If necessary, game five would be on Monday, March 31 back in Foam Lake.  

In the Twin Rivers Hockey League, the Allan Flames lead the Willow Cree Chiefs 2-1 after the teams split the two games on the weekend, with the road teams winning each contest. On Friday, Allan defeated Willow Cree 6-3. The following night, the Chiefs beat the Flames 4-3. Game four is Friday night back at the Beardy’s Memorials Arena.  

The Wheatland Hockey League finals have the Kinistino Tigers leading the Tisdale Ramblers 2-1 after Kinistino picked up a 4-2 win in Tisdale on Friday night. The Tigers have a chance to win the league championship on home ice on Friday. The Ramblers will try and force a game five, which would be played on Sunday night.
