A fire broke out in Heartland last night around 7 PM, while the family was swimming at the SLS Centre.
The fire, caused by a cutting board left on the stove, was quickly contained by the Cochrane Fire Department, who also rescued the family’s two dogs and a cat.


Thankfully, their Telus alarm notified the Cochrane Fire Department.
Neighbors stepped in to care for the pets and keep the family informed.

The family was notified at the pool and received help from SLS Centre staff, who provided free family passes.
Thankfully, no one was injured, and the family expressed gratitude for the swift response of both the fire department and their supportive neighbors.
