Veteran defenceman Hunter Mayo has made the playoffs in every season of his WHL career.
This spring is the first time he heads to the post-season as a member of the Swift Current Broncos.
Mayo expects that experience to prepare him for what's next in their series against Medicine Hat.
"All the experience overall is just huge for me," Mayo said. "I've been lucky to be in playoffs every year of my WHL career. Having that experience really helps me and it's nice coming into the playoffs with that kind of mindset knowing I've been there before."
Mayo has played some of his best hockey since joining the Broncos from Red Deer at the trade deadline.
"It's been an unreal transformation for me," he said. "All the guys have been very welcoming. We do a lot of things differently that we did in Red Deer, but it's all good things. I'm happy with the change."
Mayo has 27 points in 27 games since joining Swift Current and is a +10 over that span.
He believes the Broncos can compete with any team in the league.
"We know we can beat any team," Mayo added. "We've beaten all the best teams. We know we can do it in the playoffs. It's just about bringing the right mindset and the whole sixty minutes to do it."
Mayo and the Broncos start their series with the Tigers on Friday and Saturday in Medicine Hat.
