Cochrane skaters have returned from the StarSkate Provincials with an impressive haul of three medals.
Evalea Foley was crowned the Leading Edge Series Star 6 Champion and earned a Star 6 silver medal to add to the bronze she won last season.

She was ranked first going into provincials but said there was no guarantee she would win the top prize.
"It wasn't my best performance of the season," she said, "but honestly, I figured out that I was sitting in first after my skate. I was really happy because I didn't think it would turn out that way."
She is now progressing to Star 8 from 6 and will be at SunSationmal in April. She will be competing at the pre-novice level at the Wild Rose Invitational during the August long weekend.
"It's much harder, and there are many more people to compete against."

Megan Lewis-Moore made a stunning debut at provincials, claiming silver in the Star 6/7 Follow Solo Dance. She placed 10th in Star 5 U13.
She says she was excited to win after coming into provincials ranked second.
Megan learned to skate at three and began figure skating a few years ago. She credits her grandmother for her interest in the sport.
"My grandmother was really into skating. She'd watch it a lot, and I said,' I want to do that, too. '"
Having her grandmother watch her win silver was special.
Next, she will be testing her Star 7 dances.

Atera Kirkpatrick, competing in her fourth provincials, secured a bronze medal in the Star 7 Artistic category. In Star 6, she placed 12th.
"I'm very excited," she says. "I worked hard to get here. I wasn't expecting it, but I worked hard over the year."
She's now preparing to test her gold artistic, the highest level you can reach. She has a few dance tests as well.
The Cochrane Skating Club had a record seven skaters qualify for provincials. Also competing were Bentley Halliday, June Gartner, Piper Halliday, and Claire Moore.
