A devastating fire in the closing month of 2024 has led to a community appeal through a Go Fund Me page.
Nancy Mohr has organized a fundraiser to support Norm and Reginna Ortman after their house was lost to fire. Mohr’s appeal on behalf of the Ortmans appears on their Go Fund Me page as follows:
On behalf of the family of Norman and Reginna Ortman, we are asking for your kindness and generosity to support this wonderful couple who have experienced a total, catastrophic and devastating loss of their home to fire.
On Monday, Dec 2, 2024, Norm and Reginna received one of the most unimaginable calls from the local RCMP detachment while away visiting their grandchildren. Their beautiful home full of many treasured memories, hard work and family history were completely destroyed from an overwhelming fire. Despite the efforts of 2 local fire halls, their home could not be saved and is considered a total loss. Additional devastation hit when they were denied insurance due to a technical error.
With no place to call home, we are asking for your love and support to collectively rebuild and repair the hole in their hearts and help them through this difficult time.
Please know your support is so greatly appreciated! Your generous donations are accepted through GoFundMe and the Humboldt Credit Union.
On behalf of Norm and Reginna and family, thank you so much for kindness and generosity.
