Sixteen13 Ministry, a local organization dedicated to helping individuals in need, has announced a series of upcoming events aimed at bringing the community together through music and faith-based encouragement. Vice President Tiffany Krahn shared details on three major events happening in the coming months, all designed to raise funds and awareness for the ministry’s work.

Bluegrass concert – April 25

Kicking off the lineup of events is a bluegrass musical evening featuring the Blue Water Brothers. The concert will take place on April 25 at 6:30 PM at Bergthaler Mennonite Church in Winkler. Admission is by donation, allowing attendees to contribute what they feel led to give in support of Sixteen13 Ministry’s work.

Krahn highlighted the concert as an exciting opportunity to bring people together through music. “I don’t know too much about bluegrass, but it’s going to be a great night of community and connection,” she said. The event was made possible through a connection with one of the musicians, demonstrating the ministry’s close ties with the community.

Glencross Quartet concert – May 23

For those who love gospel harmonies, the Glencross Quartet will perform on May 23, another highly anticipated event following their successful appearance last year. “Hearing the way they sing together as a group is so beautiful,” Krahn shared. “It gives you that tingle down your spine—it’s truly great music.”

Much like the bluegrass concert, this event is expected to provide a space for people to experience uplifting music while supporting a good cause. “Nowadays, so many people feel disconnected,” Krahn noted. “We want to bring people together and encourage them.”

Brother Yun speaking event – May 2

In addition to music, Sixteen13 Ministry is also hosting an evening with Brother Yun, the author of The Heavenly Man, on May 2. Known for his powerful testimony and global influence, Brother Yun will speak about his experiences and faith journey.

“This is a rare opportunity to hear from someone who has impacted so many lives,” Krahn said. “People can sign up for tickets on our Facebook page, and I think it’ll be a really special night.”

How to get involved

For those unable to attend the events, Sixteen13 Ministry welcomes donations through their website, sixteen13ministry.ca. “Every dollar counts,” Krahn emphasized. “Even a $10 donation can make a real difference in helping those in need.”

Sixteen13 Ministry works in various ways, providing food, furniture, clothing, and connection to those struggling in the community. They identify individuals in need through churches, word-of-mouth, and direct outreach. “Our goal is not just to grow but to be effective,” Krahn stated. “We want to help everyone in their specific needs.”
