While it may seem early to be thinking about Christmas, the Yuletide Festival is set to return to Sylvan Lake this holiday season with the help of volunteers.

Coinciding with the Santa Claus Parade and Light Up the Nights, the festival will take place at the NexSource Centre, featuring vendors, markets, and free activities for children.

However, the event is calling for volunteers to help make the festival a success.

Natasha Campbell, chairperson of the event, said, "A lot of the original committee members are still with us, but they would like to take a step back and act more in an advisory capacity. We need new members to step in, learn those roles, and breathe some new, fresh life into the festival."

An open volunteer meeting will be held on April 15 at 7 p.m. in the Viewpoint Lounge at the NexSource Centre. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

Campbell, who is in her first year as chairperson, is eager to make this year's festival a memorable one. "It brings the community together. It’s an amazing way to kick off the holiday season, especially when we work in conjunction with all the other town events."
