Wetaskiwin General Duty Officers and Wetaskiwin Crime Reduction Unit responded to a report of an impaired driver on March 25.
When officers arrived on the scene, two occupants were seen leaving the vehicle.
They were arrested, and a further investigation led to a search of the vehicle resulting in the seizure of:

A sawed-off rifle;
-
60 grams of methamphetamine;
-
14 grams of fentanyl;
-
unstamped cigarettes.
Jonathan Ermineskin, a 33-year-old resident of Wetaskiwin, was charged with:

Possession for the purpose of Trafficking (x2);
-
Drive while prohibited;
-
Breach of a Firearms prohibition order;
-
Firearms offences (x5).
Sarah Lightning, a 27-years-old resident of Maskwacis, was charged with:

Breach of Conditional Sentence Order;
-
Breach of a Firearms prohibition order (x2);
-
Firearms offences (x5).
Both were brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody and are set to appear back in court on March 27, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin.
