Winkler store employee detains shoplifting youths

Winkler police responded to a shoplifting incident on March 12th after store loss prevention personnel detained two male youths. Following their arrest, police searched the teens' backpacks and discovered stolen items from several other businesses in the area. The youths admitted to taking the items from various local stores. 

Both suspects were arrested for theft under $5,000, released to their parents, and referred for alternative measures. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to encourage community cooperation to prevent theft-related crimes.
